History

Hairanoia Salon was founded by Patricia Calcagni in 1989 at the original location, which was on Cheshire Bridge Rd in Midtown Atlanta. The salon enjoyed great success in Atlanta and remained there until 2008.

Nichole Goodrich joined the staff in 1997 as a hairstylist and soon took on a management role in the salon. In 2002, Nichole began a new career as a Jewelry Designer and incorporated the jewelry into the existing retail area of the salon. Nichole is also the curator of all of the wonderful gifts and jewelry for sale at New Earth Jewelry and Gifts, located at the front of the shop. 

In 2008, Pat and Nichole bought an adorable little building in their beloved home town of Tucker and converted it into the space that still exists today. Pat's father, Jim Calcagni played a big part in the remodeling of the building. He oversaw the project, and much of the construction was done with his own hands. 

With the new building, the name New Earth Jewelry and Gifts was added. The focus of the jewerly and gifts is on the unique and humorous. The jewelry is mostly casual in style and made with sterling silver, semi precious stones and more interesting finds. There are new items coming in monthly, if not more often. 

Hairanoia has always been known as a safe place to be yourself. A place to talk freely about your home, your life, your life partner, your family. No matter who you love. Hairanoia has been a proud supporter of the LGBT community and has participated in many events over the years, such as AIDS Walk Atlanta and Cutathons in Midtown Atlanta, benefitting AID Atlanta. The owners of Hairanoia also contribute to HRC, and other non profits who are assisting the LGBT community. 

Another cause that is important to Pat and Nichole is breast cancer. Hairanoia has held several fundraising events benefitting the Breast Cancer 2 Day Walk, which raises money for Georgia breast health and breast cancer programs in Georgia. 

This year, 2019, marks Hairanoia's 30th anniversary!  We want to thank our clients, as well as our families. We also want to thank our city of Tucker for embracing us since our arrival in 2008!
